About Us

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to promote communication, collaboration and education in order to facilitate high quality and comprehensive home and community based health services to the residents of the State of Delaware.

OUR HISTORY

DAHCC was formed in the early 1980s by a coalition of Home Health Care agencies, including the Visiting Nurse Association of Delaware, Quality Care Home Health Care, Professional Home Health Care, and  Wilmington Hospital Home Health Care. It was joined shortly thereafter by many newly formed home healthcare agencies such as the hospital-based companies of St. Francis, Kent General, Milford Memorial, and Beebe. BAYADA, Generations, Oncology Care, Neuro-Care / Total Care, and others soon became actively involved and have maintained a long history with the association.  Through the years, the association grew to include multiple levels of home care licensure including Home Health Skilled, Home Health Aide Only, and Personal Assistance Service Agencies. The name was changed to the Delaware Association for Home and Community Care to embrace these increased services.

The purpose of the organization has been, and remains, to facilitate communication, collaboration, education, and advocacy.
